CHAPTER 24.

AN ACT granting the leave to the Legislature, to the
bequest of a legacy of five hundred dollars, by Andrew
McCleary, late of Frederick county, deceased, by his

last will and testament, to the Minister of the Baptist
Church in Frederick.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the assent of the Legislature of
Maryland, is hereby given to the legacy of five hundred
dollars, bequeathed by Andrew McCleary, late of Fred-
erick county, deceased, to the Minister of the Baptist
Church in Frederick, in said courtly.

Assent given.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall go
into effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 25.

In force.

AN ACT for the relief of the sureties on the Bonds of
John Richardson, formerly Collector of Dorchester

county.

Mar. 1, 1854.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sureties on the official bonds of
John Richardson, former collector of Dorchester county,
be, and they are hereby released from the payment of
interest on the State's claims against said Richardson ;
Provided, however, that the amount due for principal
on said claims, shall be paid as follows: one-half thereof
on or before the first day of April next, and the residue
on or before the first day of July next, upon the adjust-

ment of said claims by the Comptroller; And provided,
thai the said sureties shall not be released from such
interest as may be clue by the tax payers on taxes now
due by them, or which has been paid to the said collector
or his securities, nor from the interest accruing on the
balance of principal from the first day of April, eighteen
hundred and fifty-four.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this not shall take
effect from its passage.
