Proviso.

vember thereafter, upon the adjustment of said claims
by the Comptroller; Provided, however, that the said
Robert Wright and sureties, shall not be released from
the payment of such interest as he or they have received
nor for such us may be due by the tax payers on the
taxes due by them, nor from the interest accruing on
the principal from the passage of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 180.

AN ACT empowering the county commissioners of
Carroll county and the county commissioners of How-
ard county, to levy a sum of money to build a bridge
over Patapsco Falls at or near Hood's Mill on the
Washington Road.

Authority to
levy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after the passage of this
act, the county commissioners of Carroll county, and
the county commissioners of Howard county, be, and
they are hereby authorised and empowered if they
deem it expedient to levy on the assessable property of
their respective counties a sum of money not exceeding
three hundred dollars to build a substantial bridge over
the Patapsco falls at or near Hood's mill on the Wash-
ington road.

Plan for the
bridge to be
adopted.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the county commissioners of Carroll county, and
the county commissioners of Howard county, to adopt
a plan according to which said bridge shall be construc-
ted, and of such materials as they may think best, of
which due notice shall be given in one or more news
papers in each county, for the space of two weeks, for
the purpose of receiving proposals for the building of
the same according to said plan.
