AN ACT in addition to the act passed at the session
of eighteen hundred and fifty-two, chapter two hun-
dred and thirty-one, and to extend to associations
the provisions of said act for purchase and improving
and sale and leasing out of land in the city of Balti-
more.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the provisions of the act to which
this act is an addition, entitled an act to provide for the
formation of corporations for moral, scientific, literary,
dramatic, agricultural or charitable purposes, and for
the incorporation of uniform volunteer companies, fire
engine or hose companies and benevolent, beneficial
and musical associations, be, and the same are hereby
extended to, and so as to authorise incorporation of all
associations for the purpose of the purchase and im-

provement and sale and leasing out of land in the city
of Baltimore; Provided, however, that to such associ-
ations the limitation in said act as to the value or in-
come of property they, as corporations, may hold, shall
not apply, but that such incorporated associations may
respectively have a capital stock divided into shares as
it may regulate to an amount not exceeding three hun-
dred thousand dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.
