CHAPTER 7.

Passed
Feb. 10, 1854.

AN ACT to empower the Commissioners of Charlestown,
Cecil county, to sell a lot of ground and make valid a
deed to another lot therein mentioned.

Authority to

sell.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Commissioners of Charlestown,
Cecil county, be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to sell to Benoni Cooling, a lot of ground
in said town, adjoining lots ninety-nine and one hun-
dred and ten, cornering on south-east angle of Cecil
and Frederick-streets, commonly known as one of the
condemned lots for the use of a burial ground.

Deed made
valid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That they, the said Com-
missioners, shall also be empowered to make valid a
deed to John B. Graham of a lot of ground adjoining
number one hundred and eleven, on the north-east
corner of Cecil and Frederick-streets, another of the
condemed lots for the use of a burial ground.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 8.

Passed

Feb. 10, 1854.

AN ACT to create a new School District in Somerset
county.

Additional
school district
to be created.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That there shall be created in Somerset
county, an additional School District, composed of a
part of the eleventh election district of Somerset county,
and comprised within the following bounds: beginning
at the east branch of Teague's creek on Manokin river,
and running from said creek with Tull's lane to the
county road, and from said road with Tubman Hall's
road to the foot of George Davey's new road, and thence
with said new road to Annamessex river, to include the
lower portion of Potatoe neck.

Election of
Trustees.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the legal and qual-
ified voters of said School District shall assemble on the
first Monday of May, eighteen hundred and fifty-four,
and on the first Monday of May in every succeeding
