CHAPTER 5.

AN ACT to authorise the Orphans Courts of the sever-
al counties of the State, and of the city of Baltimore,
to approve and accept one guardian bond for several
wards, when the same person is guardian of several
infants, entitled to portions of the same estate.

Feb. 10, 1854.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this act, the
Orphans courts of the several counties of this State,
and the city of Baltimore are authorised and empower-
ed in all cases where the said courts may deem it expe-
dient, to approve and accept of one guardian bond,
where the same person is appointed guardian to any
number of infants, who may be entitled to portions of
the same estate, instead of separate bonds for each ward

as heretofore; Provided, that nothing herein contained
shall be construed so as to interfere with any remedies
against such bonds, but the same shall be liable to suit
by all or either of the wards therein named, or their
representatives, as fully as separate guardian's bonds
now are.

CHAPTER 6.

Proviso.

AN ACT to increase the Jail fees in Queen Anne's
County.

Feb. 10, 1854.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall be lawful for the jailor of
Queen Anne's county, to demand and receive for any
prisoner in said jail for keeping and dieting him or her
fifty cents per day, in lieu of the same now allowed by
law.

SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That the jailor receive
fifty cents per day for keeping and dieting any runa-
way negro or negro slave, committed to the jail of said
county, by any citizen of this State.

shall take effect from and after its passage.
