CHAPTER 125.

Passed
Mar. 9,1854.

AN ACT to refund to Teagle Townsend, late Register
of Wills for Worcester county, a sum of money over
paid in his account of collateral inheritance tax.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it appears from the memorial and vouchers
that Peter Dickerson, executor of John T. Taylor,
late of Worcester county, deceased, paid to Teagle
Townsend, register of wills for the county aforesaid,
the sum of seventy-five dollars and five cents as col-
lateral inheritance tax on the real estate of said de-
ceased, and also the sum of one hundred and fifty
dollars and two cents being the amount of collateral
inheritance tax due on the real and personal estate of
the said John T. Taylor, which sums less five per
cent, were paid to the Treasurer of Maryland, by the
above named Teagle Townsend, making together
the sum of two hundred and twenty-five dollars in-
stead of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars
actually due; Therefore,

Authority to

pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of Maryland on the
warrant of the Comptroller, be, and is hereby autho-
rised and directed to pay to Teagle Townsend or order
for the use of Peter Dickerson, executor of John T.
Taylor, deceased, the sum of seventy-one dollars and
twenty-five cents, it being the amount of tax collected
by him through error, less five per cent, the amount of
his commissions.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall be
in force from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 126.

AN ACT to provide for the copying or transcribing a
record in the office of the Register of Wills in Mont-
gomery county.
