to the laws of this State, and not contrary to, or incon-
sistent with any of the rights or privileges of the corpo-
ration of the city of Baltimore, or any citizen of the
United States, of any or all lands, tenements, heredita-
ments and appurtenances which do, shall or may belong
to the said company, by laying out into streets, lots,
squares, lanes, alleys, and other divisions, any such,
lands at Curtis' Creek or adjoining, or in the vicinity
thereof, or in the city of Baltimore, or in the vicinity
thereof, or at or near any navigable water adjacent to
Curtis' Creek or city of Baltimore, and erecting, con-
structing or making thereon, all such wharves, railways,
rail roads, buildings, and such improvements as may be
found or deemed advisable or necessary, to give effect
to the objects and purposes of this act, and to appropri-
ate to public purposes, ornament, beautify and improve
any piece or parcel of the said lands, in such manner
as they may choose, and to sell, rent, lease, convey,
grant on condition, or otherwise dispose of or use for
building or agricultural purposes, any part, parcel or
portion of the lands so as aforesaid owned by them, or
of the buildings and improvements thereon erected;

Provided, that in laying off streets, lanes, alleys, or
other divisions, no infringement be made on the plan
of Baltimore city, as laid out by the commissioners un-
der an act of December session, eighteen hundred and
sixteen, chapter two hundred and nine; Provided, also,
that the said company and its agents shall in all cases
whatsoever, be subject to, and observe the ordinances
of the city of Baltimore within the limits of said city ;
And provided, also, that before the construction of any
railway or rail roads upon any of the land or wharves
of said corporation within the limits of the city of Balti-
more as hereinbefore provided for, the assent of the
Mayor and City Council shall be first had and obtained
thereto, and also for the constructing of a rail road from
Curtis' Creek to connect with the Baltimore and Ohio
rail road, at or near the Relay House on the Baltimore
and Ohio rail road, and also to connect with any rail
road making, or that will be made hereafter, in the
vicinity of Curtis' Creek.

Provisoes.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the president and
directors of the said company, or a majority of them,
when met and acting as a board, shall have full power
and authority to attend to, transact or execute the af-
fairs and business of said company, to contract, agree
for, purchase, rent or hire all such lands, buildings,
chatties, materials, boats, steam power, rights, privileges
and affects whatsoever, as they shall find convenient, or
