the benefits and advantages, and pay over to the Trustees
thereof such equal proportion or sum of money as such
school district may be entitled to, upon the Trustees
thereof complying with the regulations and provisions
applying to the Trustees of other primary schools in the
county, in the same manner and by the same means,
as if said new school district had been created under the
former laws for the establishment of primary schools in
Charles county.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the sheriff to sell negro Leonidas
Snowden, for the benefit of Montgomery county.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sheriff of Montgomery county
be and he is hereby authorised and directed to sell at
public sale, to the highest bidder, for cash, for transpor-
tation beyond the limits of the State, negro Leonidas
Snowden, a convict set at liberty from the Penitentiary,
to serve for the residue of his unexpired term of servi-
tude, as a slave; and said sheriff shall, after deducting
five per cent, commission and all expenses attending
said sale, pay the net proceeds of said sale to the coun-
ty commissioners for Montgomery county, for the use of
said county; and the official bond of said sheriff shall be
liable to said commissioners for said proceeds of said sale;

Provided, that the clerk of the Circuit Court of Mont-
gomery county shall, at the time of such sale, supply
and furnish to said negro slave a copy, under seal of the
court, of the instrument of writing under which he is
entitled to freedom.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.
