CHAP. 115.

after deducting one hundred and nine dollars and

twenty-one cents, being the cost and all fees in said
case, be refunded and paid over to a certain James
Thompson, who was his security at the time he pur-
chased said negro man, and as such security paid the
purchase money therefor, and it seems right and pro-
per, from the facts shown by said petition, and the
accompanying papers, from the peculiar circumstances

of this case, that the said prayer be granted; There-
fore,

paid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John Richardson, late sheriff of
Dorchester county, be, and he is hereby authorised to
pay over to the said James Thompson, of said county,
the sum of one hundred and forty dollars and seventy-
nine cents, it being the net proceeds of the sale of the said
negro man named Thomas Cephus, now remaining in
his bands, after deducting therefrom all costs and fees.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the passage thereof.

CHAPTER 115.

24, 1852.

AN ACT to authorise and empower the Commis-
sioners of Washington county, to levy a sum of
money to Build a Bridge over Little Antietum
Creek, on the old rood, leading from Sharpsburg
to Middletown, and near the house of Josiah and
Elias Snively.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the commissioners of Washington
county, be, and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered, at their discretion, at their next annual levy,
to levy a sum of money sufficient to build a bridge over
Little Antietum Creek, on the old road leading from
Sharpsburg to Middletown, and near the house of
Josiah and Elias Snively, in said county.

To be let out
by contract.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said county
commissioners shall deem the building of such a bridge
over Little Antietum Creek, expedient and proper, they
are hereby authorised and empowered to let the build-
ing of said bridge out by contract, to such person or
persons, and on such terms as shall, by them, be deem-
ed to be for the interests of said county.
