AN ACT to Assign to the Comptroller a Permanent

Office.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the offices at the northwest corner

of the State House, at present used as a depository of
the records and papers of the late General Court and
Court of Appeals, be, and the same are hereby assigned
for the use of the Comptroller of the Treasury.

&c.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the records and
papers now deposited in said offices, shall be removed
and placed for safe keeping, under the direction of the
Clerk of the Court of Appeals, in suitable cases, either
in the upper committee room of the House of Dele-
gates, or in the apartment used as an armory, or in any
other room in the State House where they can be con-
veniently and safely deposited.

priated for fit-
ting up, &c.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That for the expense

of removing the said records and papers, and fitting up
cases therefor; and also, of repairing and fitting the
said offices for the use of the Comptroller, the sum of
seven hundred and thirty dollars, or so much thereof
as may be necessary, be, and the same is hereby appro-
priated out of any money in the treasury, not other-
wise appropriated, to be expended under the direction of
the Comptroller.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, Thai this act shall take
effect from and after the dale of the passage thereof.

CHAPTER 90.

AN ACT to repeal the Charter of the Preston Coal
Company, created by an Act entitled, an Act to In-
corporate the Preston Coal Company, passed at
December Session, eighteen hundred and forty-
seven, chapter two hundred and eighty-nine.

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the act passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, chapter two
hundred and eighty-nine, entitled, an act to incorpo-
