SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That after the division

of the district, as provided in the first section of this
hill, the most southern district of the two shall retain
and be designated by the number twenty-eight, and
the other designated by the number nineteen.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of
supplying any deficiency in the necessary amount of
funds, for the purpose of purchasing the lots and build-
ing the necessary school houses, after applying the pro-
ceeds of the sale of the house and lot of land, as pro-
vided in the first section of this bill, the board of
commissioners of Howard county, at their next annual
levy for county purposes, are hereby authorized and
empowered to levy on the assessable property of How-
ard county a sufficient amount to meet the same, not
exceeding one hundred and seventy-five dollars for
each lot of land and house.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That at any time the
board of commissioners of Howard county, shall be sat-
isfied by a certificate in writing from the commission-
ers, appointed by the first section of this bill, or a ma-
jority of them, that they have sold the present school
house and lot of land attached thereto, and have pur-
chased two lots of land, and secured legal titles thereto,
and have entered into contract for the building of
suitable school houses thereon, the said board of com-
missioners of Howard county shall pay to, or draw an
order on the Treasurer of the county, in favor of the
said commissioners for the amount of money levied,
as provided for in the third section of this bill.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That after the erection of
a school house in each of the districts, as hereinbefore
provided, and schools shall have been put into opera-
tion, the county commissioners of Howard county, be,
and they are hereby authorized to levy on the assessa-
ble property of said county, a sufficient sum of money
for the support of said school district, so as to place the
same on an equality with other schools in said county.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
appointed by the first section of this act, shall be held
accountable to the board of commissioners of Howard
county for the faithful performance of the duties re-
quired of them by this act.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That all acts, or part of
acts, inconsistent with the provisions of this act be, and
the same are hereby repealed, so far as it relates to dis-
trict, number twenty-eight, of Howard county.
