CHAPTER 81.

CHAP. 82.

AN ACT to allow a Pension to Eleanora B. Wat-
kins, widow of the late Colonel Gassaway Watkins,
a Captain in the American Revolution, and appro-
priating a sum of money for the payment thereof.

23, 1852.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Eleanora B. Watkins, of Howard

county, widow of Gassaway Watkins, a Captain in the
American Revolution, be, and she is hereby allowed
a pension for and during her natural life, equal to the
half pay of a captain, in consideration of the services

of her husband in the said war.

Pension al-
lowed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sum of two
hundred and forty dollars, being equal to the half pay

of a captain, is hereby appropriated, and the Treasurer,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, is hereby direct-
ed to pay the said sum of money to the said Eleanora
B. Watkins, or her order, annually, in quarterly pay-
ments, during her life.

priated.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the first quarterly
payment shall date from the first day of January, eigh-
teen hundred and fifty-two.

CHAPTER 82.

ment.

AN ACT to provide that the Residence in Annapolis

of the Judges of the Court of Appeals, during
their terms of office, shall not be taken to be an
Abandonment of their residences in their respective
Judicial Districts.

23, 1852.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That no Judge of the Court of Appeals
shall be held or considered to have abandoned his resi-
dence in the judicial district, for which he shall have
been elected, by reason of his residence in Annapolis,
during the term for which such judge may have been
elected, unless such judge shall signify his intention so
to abandon his residence in his said district, by voting at
any election held in the said city of Annapolis.
