CHAPTER 45.

AN ACT to refund to Emily Mactavish, Executrix

of Mary Caton, late of Baltimore city, deceased,
certain State Taxes erroneously paid by her.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it appears that the estate of Mary Caton,
late of Baltimore city, deceased, whereof Emily Mac-
tavish is executrix, was composed, in part, of certain
stock of the State of Maryland; and that in the year
eighteen hundred and forty-eight, the State tax was
deducted from the interest paid on said stock by the
commissioner of loans; and it appears that in the
same year, the said stock was erroneously included
in the assessment made by the assessors of Baltimore
city, and that the State tax, amounting to the sum of
sixty-eight dollars and eigthy-two cents, (less five per
cent for prompt payment,) was paid on the assessed
value of said stock, by the said executrix; Therefore,

Treasurer di-
rected to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby
authorised and directed, upon the warrant of the Comp-
troller, to pay to Emily Mactavish, executrix of Mary
Caton, late of Baltimore city, deceased, or her order,
the sum of sixty-five dollars and thirty-eight cents,
being the amount of State tax erroneously paid by said
executrix.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall lake
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 46.

AN ACT to regulate the time of holding the Circuit
Courts in the Seventh Judicial Circuit.

Two terms.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That there shall be two terms of the
Circuit Courts in each year, in the several counties
composing the seventh Judicial Circuit.

When to com-
mence.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the terms of the
Circuit Courts shall beheld, and commence in each
county within the seventh Judicial Circuit of this State,
at the following places and times, to wit: at Demon,

in Caroline County, on the second Monday of March
