SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the county com-
missioners of Montgomery county are hereby directed
to apply the said sum of money to the payment of the
expenses, so as aforesaid incurred, in the safe keeping
and delivery of said William L. Chaplin to the sheriff
of Howard county.

CHAPTER 312.

AN ACT to facilitate the Despatch of Business on
the Equity side of the Superior Court of Balti-
more City.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Judge of the Superior Court of the
City of Baltimore may, with the assent of the par-
ties to any suit or action, depending on the Equity
side of said court, in writing, signed by their parties or
their counsel, appoint a referee, before whom the said
case may be argued, and the said court may pass such
decree, in any such cause, as the referee may report

from any decree passed in pursuance of the provisions

of this act, in the same manner, and to have the same

effect, as if the same had been passed without the in-

Reformed Congregation of Zion's Church, in Man-

able, and to purchase a lot of ground and erect a
