CHAPTER 301.

AN ACT to authorise searches of, and abstracts to
be taken from the records of the late Orphans'

Court for Baltimore County, by the Register of
Wills for said County.

CHAP. 302.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Register of wills of Baltimore county,
be, and he is hereby authorised, to make searches of,
and to take office copies from the books of records,
dockets and minutes of proceedings of the late Or-
phans' court, for Baltimore county, in all cases where
searches of, or obstructs from said records, dockets and
minutes of proceedings are required, in relation to
estates, where the deceased was at the time of his or
her death, a resident of Baltimore comity, without
the limits of the City of Baltimore, and to have and
to receive such fees as are now or may hereafter be
fixed by law, for searches of, or abstracts from the re-
cords of the Orphans' courts of this State.

CHAPTER 302.

AN ACT to provide for the erection of a Hospital
for the Insane in this State.

27, 1852.

WHEREAS, the increase of insanity in Maryland, de-
mands additional and improved provisions for the pro-
tection and cure of the insane; Therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That Richard S. Stewart, Benjamin C.
Howard, Richard Potts, Washington Duvall and
Cathell Humphreys, be and they are appointed com-
missioners, to select and purchase for the purposes
hereinafter named, a tract of land, of not less than one
hundred nor more than three hundred acres, easily ac-
cessible by some one of the principal avenues of Havel,
in a healthy situation, and well supplied with water;
the said tract not to cost more than five thousand
dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners shall cause the said tract of land to be conveyed
clear of all incumbrances, to themselves, as trustees of
