CHAP. 303.
Plan of build-
ing to be pre-
pared.

the Maryland State Hospital for insane persons, and to
their successors as such.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners shall prepare a plan for the erection on said tract
of land, of a hospital for the insane, combining all the
recent improvements in such institutions, and of suffi-
cient size to accommodate properly, not less than two
hundred, nor more than two hundred and fifty patients,
and shall proceed to commence the erection of the said
hospital, and proceed with the erection thereof, as rapidly
as the appropriations made by the General Assembly
from time to time will permit.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the sum of ten
thousand dollars is hereby appropriated, to be applied to
the purchase of the said lands and the commencement
of the said hospital thereon, said sum of money to be
paid according to law on the orders of the before named
commissioners, or a majority of them.

Vacancy —
how filled.
|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That if a vacancy occur
by the death, resignation or refusal to act of either or
any of the commissioners aforesaid, the same shall be
filled by the Governor, the person or persons so appoint-
ed, to act as commissioners until a different provision
be made by the General Assembly, and the said com-
missioners shall keep a strict account of their travelling
and personal expenses, incurred in the performance of
their duties as such; which expenses shall be allowed
them out of the gums of money now or hereafter to be
appropriated, but no other or further compensation.

AN ACT to authorise William Ott, of Frederick
county, to sell his Negro Man, Rezin Thomas, a
slave for a term of Years, beyond the Limits of
this State.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this act, it
shall and may be lawful for William Ott, of Frederick
county, or his agent or attorney, to sell or otherwise
dispose of his negro man, Rezin Thomas, who is a
slave for a term of years, to any person or persons be-
