1852.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the object of the
said corporation is declared to be the establishment of a
Steam ferry for the transportation of passengers, car-
riages and transportable articled generally within the
harbor of Baltimore, and to erect wharves, buildings
and any other appendage necessary or convenient to
the advantageous and profitable conduct of the object

of the corporation; for which purpose they are author-
ised to purchase, hold, sell, rent and lease, land in fee
simple or otherwise.

CHAP. 286.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the capital stock

of the said corporation shall not exceed one hundred
thousand dollars.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That for the manage-
ment of the affairs of the said corporation, the stock-

holders shall elect a president, and not less than six di-
rectors, who shall remain in office for one year, or un-
til successors shall be elected, a majority of whom shall
form a quorum or board, and that a majority of stock-
holders may at any time call a meeting upon advising
all the stockholders, by advertisement or otherwise, of
the time and place of holding said meeting.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the stock of said
corporation shall be deemed personal estate, that all
the properly, estate and joint stock, of the corporation
shall be bound and answerable for its debts and liabili-
ties.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That nothing contained
herein shall be construed as grunting banking privileges
to said corporation, or exempting their property or effects
from taxation.

reserves to itself the right to alter, change or repeal this
act.

Reservation.

AN ACT entitled, on Act to compensate Counsel
.engaged in behalf of the State of Maryland in the

others.
