following bounds, be, and the same is hereby created
a new and separate primary school district, designated
number nine, beginning at the junction of the old road
and the Frederick turnpike, below and near Evan
Scott's, and running with the old Frederick road op-
posite judge Dorsey's gate, and down said road to the
road that leads to Dorsey's run, along said road to the
Patapsco falls, then down and binding on said falls un-
til it intersects the line of the Ellicott's Mills primary
school district, then binding on the north and west lines
of said primary school district until it reaches the Fre-
derick turnpike, thence up said turnpike to the place of
beginning.

SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That the taxable inhabi-
tants of said school district, be, and the same are here-
by authorised and empowered to elect trustees on the
same day and in the same manner that trustees are now
elected in the other primary school districts of Howard
county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That when and after
the taxable inhabitants of said district shall have pro-
vided themselves with a school house, at their own pro-
per cost and expense, and said school shall be put in
operation, the commissioners of Howard county, be,
and they are hereby authorised and directed to levy
upon the assessable property of said county a sufficient
amount or sum of money, for the support of said school
district, so as to place the same on an equality with the
other primary schools in said county.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That from and after the
passage of this act, it shall be the duty of the commis-
sioners of tax of Howard county, to number all the
school districts in Howard county, commencing in the
first election district in said county, and with the num-
ber one, and so on through the county.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts, inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be,
and the same are hereby repealed, so far as it relates to
district number twenty-nine, of Howard county.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.
