CHAPTER 254.

AN ACT appropriating a sum of money to pay John
M. Davis, of Annapolis , for materials furnished,
and work done to the Room of the Court of Ap-
peals.

Authority to
pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the warrant of

the Comptroller, is authorised and directed to pay
to John M. Davis, of Annapolis, forty-two dollars and
twelve and a half cents, being for materials furnished,
and work done to the room of the Court of Appeals,
by order of the late clerk.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall go
into effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 255.

AN ACT to prevent Merger on the Mortgage of
Leasehold Estates to the owner of the Reversion.

No merger by
reason of con-
veyance here-
tofore made.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That there shall be no merger by reason
of any conveyance heretofore made, or that may here-
after be made, by way of mortgage, or assignment of
mortgage, from the lessee or lessees of any ground or
premises demised for a term of years, his, her or their
executors, administrators or assigns, to the lessor or
lessors of such ground or premises, (whether by origi-
nal or sub-lease,) his, her or their heirs, executors, ad-
ministrators or assigns, and that the same rights and
remedies, to every effect, shall be had, in case of any
such conveyance heretofore or to be hereafter made, as
though the grantee or grantees, in such conveyance,
had no other interest or estate in the property than the
one thereby conveyed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
