AN ACT to provide for the payment of Nicholas
Brewer, for his services as Chancellor of this State.
|
|
|
Authority to
pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer of this State, he,
and he is hereby authorized and required, on the war-
rant of the Comptroller, to pay to Nicholas Brewer, or
order, the sum of five hundred dollars, for services per-
formed by him, as Chancellor in certain cases, during
the years eighteen hundred and fifty and eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-one.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the passage thereof.

AN ACT entitled, an Act to regulate the Sessions
of the Circuit Courts in the Fourth Judicial Cir-
cuit.
|

Three regu-
lar law terms
for Allegany
county.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That there shall be three regular common
law terms of the Circuit Court for Allegany county,
commencing on the second Monday of April, second
Monday of October, and first Monday of January, in
in each and every year.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That there shall he three
regular common law terms of the Circuit Court for
Washington county, commencing on the first Monday
of March, fourth Monday of July, and fourth Monday
of November, in each and every year.

Sheriff to sum-
mon 24 jurors.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the sheriffs of the
respective counties aforesaid, shall summon for the
July term of the Circuit Court for Washington county,
and the January term of the Circuit Court for Alle-
gany county, only twenty-four jurors, who shall con-
stitute the petit jury for said terms; and that at all the
other terms, they shall summon the usual number of
persons as heretofore practiced, who shall constitute
the grand and petit juries for said terms.
