1852.

Beginning at the head of Fox Creek, at or near Sta-
pleford's wind mill, thence running to the county road
to Holme's front gale, thence running with said road to
the Black Water road, thence running and binding with
said Black Water road to Fearim Creek bridge, and
from thence running down said Fearim creek to Fish-
ing bay, thence running so as to include all the islands
in and near the mouth of the Nanticoke river, belong-
ing to Dorchester county, and in the fifth election dis-
trict, to the line dividing Dorchester and Somerset
counties, thence with said line down the said river and
Fishing bay, the Tangier sound and Holland straits,
to the Chesapeake bay, thence with said bay, Hooper's
straits, Honga river, and Fox Greek, to the place of be-
ginning.

CHAP. 175.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the place of hold-
ing elections for said district shall be Todd town, in
said district.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants

of said district shall be in all respects entitled to all the
rights, liberties and privileges, held or to be held and
enjoyed by the other election districts in said county.

CHAPTER 175.

Rights of in-
habitants.

AN ACT to incorporate a Literary Institution, at
Hagerstown, in Washington county, to be styled
the Hagerstown Female Seminary.

24, 1852.

WHEREAS, many citizens of Hagerstown and its vi-
cinity, and others, have subscribed monies to an amount
exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars, for the purpose

of building and endowing a seminary for the education

of females, upon the plan of scholarship, to be located
at Hagerstown, in Washington county, under the aus-
pices of the Lutheran church, and have applied for an
act of incorporation; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That Andrew Hogmire, Jonathan Ha-
ger, David Artz, Charles Spangler, Frederick L. Po-
sey, Thomas G. Robertson, James B. McKee, William
Hawkin, Henry K. Tice, of Washington county, and
all others who have subscribed, and shall hereafter sub-
scribe, for scholarship in said seminary, at Hagerstown,
in Washington county, and their successors, shall, be,
