CHAP. 174.

city, may pass all orders nisi, for the ratification of sales,
made and reported under decrees or orders of the Court

of which he may be clerk, hut not final orders.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said clerks may
issue commissions, to take testimony, to the commis-
sioners appointed in each county for that purpose, and
such commissions to have the same effect, as if ordered
by the Court; and if the parties agree thereto, in writ-
ing, the clerk may issue commission to any commis-
sioner or commissioners named in such agreement.

dians, &c.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said clerks may
issue commissions, to assign guardians, and take the
answers of infants, and may issue commissions to value
the real estate of infants, in cases where there is an ap-
plication to sell such real estate, and such commission
may be necessary.

lication.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said clerks may
pass and issue orders of publication, to notify non-
resident defendants, to have the same effect as if passed
by the court.

In case of
inability of
Judge to at-
tend, may ad-
journ court.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That in case of the
inability of the Judge of any court, to attend on the day
appointed for holding court, the clerk of such court
may, by virtue of a written order, directed to him by
the Judge, adjourn the said court to the next stated
term thereof, or to such day prior thereto, as in the said
order shall be appointed.

In force.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 174.

Passed May
24, 1852.

AN ACT to lay out and establish a new Election Dis-
trict in Dorchester county, to be called District
number Ten, or Strait's Neck.

New district
established.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That a new election district be formed
and established, and the same is hereby established in
Dorchester county, out of part of the fifth election dis-
trict in said county, to be called and known as Strait's
Neck district, or district number ten.

Boundaries.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the boundaries of
said new election district shall be as follows, to wit:
