No 44.
Resolved, That the county court of Allegany coun-
ty be, and they are hereby required to contract with
some person or persons, taking bond with security for
due perform ance, lor the expending of four thousand
dollars in such manner as the county court shall
direct, and to the best advantage in opening and mak-
ing passable the road already laid off and located from
Hancock-Town, in Washington county, to Cumber-
land in Allegany county, which said sum the treasur-
er of the Western Shore is hereby directed and re-
quired to pay to the order of said court, out of any un-
appropriated money in the treasury.

academy.

No. 45.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore
be, and he is hereby directed to pay to the trustees of
a school now building in the town of Cambridge, Dor-
chester county, on the first Monday of October annu-
ally, or to their order, the sum of five hundred dol-
lars, as a donation to said school; Provided, The school
shall be completed before the first day of October
eighteen hundred and twelve.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore
be, and he is hereby authorised and directed to pay to
the president and trustees of the Hagers-Town Acad-
emy, or their order, on the first Monday of October
next, and on every first Monday of October forever
thereafter, the sura of eight hundred dollars, as a do-
nation for the use of said academy, to be applied by
the president and trustees, to assist in paying the sala-
ries of the teachers of said academy.
