No. 40.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore
be, and he is hereby directed and required to pay to
Richard Proctor, late a private in the revolutionary
war, belonging to the Maryland line, or to his order
annually, in quarterly payments, a sum of money
equal to the half pay of a private, as a provision to
him in his indigent situation and advanced life, and as
a further remuneration to him for those services by
which his country has been so essentially benefited.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore
be, and he is hereby authorised and directed to deliver
to Samuel Chase, administrator of Samuel Chase, or
his order, two bonds; the one executed on the twenty-
seventh of April seventeen hundred and eighty five,
by the said Samuel Chase, with Jeremiah T. Chase
and Allen Quynn as securities; and the other bond
executed on the thirty-first of March seventeen hun-
dred and ninety-two, by the said Samuel Chase, with
Jeremiah T. Chase and Henry Ridgely as securities.

Resolved, That the printer to the state, print twen-
ty-five hundred copies of the militia law of this state,
with marginal notes, stitched in form of octavo; and
it shall be the duty of the executive of Maryland to
forward as soon as possible, to each major-general,
ten copies; to each brigadier-general, sixteen copies;
to each commanding officer of a regiment, forty co-
pies; to each commanding officer of an extra battalion,
twenty copies, to be distributed to the commissioned
officers of their respective regiments or extra battal-
ions, as the case may be; and to each member of the
legislature, two copies; and the treasurer of the "Wes-
tern Shore is hereby authorised to pay the expense of
the same out of any unappropriated money in the
treasury.

Cottingham Academy, in Cecil county, shall have
completed the buildings for the reception of students,
and the same being certified under seat of the corpora-
