hold the land mentioned in the deed from John Rogers
aforesaid, bearing date the fifteenth day of December,
seventeen hundred and eighty-seven, in the same man-
ner as if the fourth line had been expressed north thir-
ty-eight degrees and thirty minutes east; and that the
legal title to the said land, or any part thereof which
remained in the state by reason of the mistake made in
the deed aforesaid, be, and is hereby relinquished to
the said heirs, and may be transferred to the person or
persons claiming under the decree and sale aforesaid;

Provided, That nothing herein contained shall affect
the right of any person or persons who shall have any
claim to the said land, by virtue of any right acquired
before the passage of this act.

CHAPTER 204.

Proviso.

A Supplement to an act entitled, An act to reduce
into one the several acts of Assembly respecting
Elections, and to regulate said Elections.

1812.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That if any candidate or any other person
or persons whatever, shall, at any time before, or on
the day of any election, to be held in virtue of the law
to which this is a supplement, give or bestow; or di-
rectly or indirectly promise any gift or reward to
secure any person's vote or ballot at any such elec-
tion, any such person or candidate so offending, shall,
on conviction thereof in the comity court of the county
wherein such offence may be committed, be fined at
the discretion of the court, a sum not exceeding five
hundred dollars; and suffer such imprisonment as the
court may adjudge, not exceeding six months.

Persons shall
not give any
reward
to secure votes,
under a certain,
penalty.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all fines and
penalties created and imposed by this act, shall be re-
covered in the same manner as fines and penalties are,
by the act to which this is a supplement.

CHAPTER 205.

How fines, &c,
are to be reco-
vered.

A n act to authorise the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore to make an additional compensa-
tion to the present chief justice of the court of
Oyer and Terminer and jail delivery for Balti-
more county.
