provisions of the act of assembly, passed at Novem-
ber session eighteen hundred and five, entitled, " An
act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, " and its
several supplements, in the same manner, and upon
the same terms and conditions as if the said Domi-
nick Galt and John Thomas had obtained the assent
of so many of their creditors, as have due to them
two thirds in amount, of the debts owing by the said
Dominick Gait and John Thomas.

An Act to empower Rebecca Candler and John
Candler, administrators of William Candler,
late sheriff and collector of Montgomery county,
to collect fees and county tax, put into his hands
for collection during his life time.
|

1811.

WHEREAS, Rebecca Candler and John Candler,
administrators of William Candler, late sheriff and
collector of Montgomery county, have represented
to this General Assembly, that the said William
Candler departed this life on the seventh day of Au-
gust, eighteen hundred and ten, and that previous to
his death, he received from the several officers, their
fees for collection, that he was appointed collector of
the county tax, for the year eighteen hundred and ten?
and that but a small proportion of either the fees or
county tax collected by him in his life time, or
have been collected by them since his death; and
praying an act may pass authorising them or any per-
son employed by them, to collect the said fees and
county tax, in the same manner as the said sheriff
and collector could have done; and the prayer of the
petitioners appearing reasonable: Therefore,

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Rebecca and John Candler, or any
person employed by them, be, and they are hereby
authorised and empowered, at any time previous to
the first of January eighteen hundred and thirteen, to
proceed and collect the said fees and county tax, for
the year eighteen hundred and ten, by execution, if
necessary, in the same manner as the said William
Candler could have done.
