A supplement to an act entitled, an act to incorporate
Saint John's Literary Institution, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and forty, chapter
thirty-five.

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the principal and assistant of Saint
John's Literary Institution, with the view of encour-
aging the students of said institution to a laudable
diligence, industry and progress in useful literature,
be and they are hereby authorised to hold public
Commencements at such times as shall be fixed upon
in the rules and regulations of the said institution,
and at such public Commencements, to confer such
degrees and academical honors as are usually given
in other colleges, upon such pupils and others, as
they shall upon examination deem worthy of them;
land shall have full power and authority, in the cor-
porate name of the said institution, and under its cor-
porate seal, to grant diplomas for said collegiate and
academical honors to the persons entitled thereto.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall at all
times be liable to be amended or repealed at the pleas-
ure of the Legislature.

An act entitled, an act to make valid and have recorded
a certain instrument of writing, purporting to be a
Deed of Conveyance of certain real estate therein
mentioned, from James Evans and Jane A. Evans
his wife, to Joseph Roman.

Made valid.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a deed or instrument of writing, purporting and
intended to be a deed of conveyance of. certain real
estate therein mentioned, from James Evans, of Lan-
caster county, in the State of Pennsylvania, and Jane
A. Evans, his wife, now deceased, to Joseph Roman,
of Cecil county, in the State of Maryland, bearing
date on the twenty-seventh day of January, in the
year eighteen hundred and forty-five, and signed,
sealed, and executed by the said James Evans and
