Resolution in favor of James G. King & Sons.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Commissioner of Loans be and he is hereby au-
thorised to pay to Messrs. James P. King & Sons, of
New York, the sum of one hundred and eighty dol-
lars, being for the amount of the following coupons
alleged by them to have been transmitted to the Loan
Office of this State, in due course of mail, and which,
by some accident, have been lost or miscarried, name-
ly: Coupons of fifteen dollars each, of the following
numbers: numbers one hundred and eighty-three,
(183;) one hundred and eighty-four, (184;) one
hundred and eighty-five, (185;) seven hundred and
sixty-three, (763;) eight hundred and seventy-four,
(874;) and eight hundred and seventy-five, (875;)
each and all of which fell due on the first day of April,
in the year eighteen hundred and forty-eight, and also
coupons of the same numbers and for the like sum
which fell due on the first day of July of said year,
being coupons belonging to bonds of this State, of
one thousand dollars each, issued under an act of As-
sembly of December Session, eighteen hundred and
thirty-four, chapter two hundred and forty-one; pro-
vided, that the said James G. King & Sons shall give
to the Treasurer of the Western Shore satisfactory
security to indemnify this State against any other
claim or demand on account of, or any hereafter pre-
sentation of said coupons by any holder thereof, of the
said coupons alleged to have been lost as aforesaid ;
and provided also, before such payment, that the said
Treasurer shall certify, under his hand to said com-
missioner, that such security as aforesaid, hath been
given.
