and kitchen furniture, or other personal property as she

may choose; provided, the said deceased died seized of
no real estate; provided, the same shall not exceed in
value, according to the inventory and appraisement
aforesaid, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars; awl
provided further, that the amount of personal property
so selected, to be taken by her, shall be deducted from
her distributive share of said personal estate.

Provisoes.

SEC 2. And be it enacted, That if the widow have
no children, and the deceased husband's estate is insol-

vent, then the said widow shall only be allowed to take
to the amount of seventy-five dollars, under the provi-
sions of the first section of this act.

If estate should
be insolvent.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the executor or ex-
ecutrix, administrator or administratrix, of the person so
deceased, shall make return in writing, of the articles and
amount so taken by the widow, together with her re-
ceipt for the same, to the orphans court issuing letters
testamentary or of administration, upon which return so
being made, the court shall allow him or them a credit
for the same upon their administrator's account.

CHAPTER 544.

An act to allow John R. Baden, former Sheriff of
Prince George's county, further time to complete his
collections.

Passed Mar. 9,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John R. Baden, late sheriff of
Prince George's county, by himself, or any person
or persons by him appointed for that purpose, is and are
hereby authorised and empowered to collect all fees,
fines, forfeitures, balances of money due him, as late
sheriff of said county, in the same manner, and to the
same extent, which he could or might have done within
the time limited by law.

Time extended.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said John R.
Baden, before he proceeds to collect under and by virtue
of this act, shall make out and deliver the person or per-
sons from whom any fees, fines, forfeitures and balances
of money may be demanded, an account of the same as
due by the person or persons from whom the same are
