CHAPTER 542.

Passed March
9, 1850.

An act to change the location of a Public Road therein
mentioned.

Location of
road changed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That Hanson Penn and Edward W. Du-
vall, of Prince George's county, be and they are
hereby authorised to change the location of so much of
the public road, leading from Bladensburg to the Rock
Creek church, as passes through their farms, and the
said Hanson Penn and Edward W. Duvall, shall lo-
cate, complete and put. in good order the new part of
said road, at least thirty feet in width, entirely upon
their farms, free from all expense or charge upon the
the said county, and shall signify the same to the levy
court of the said county, and the said court shall ap-
point two disinterested persons to view and inspect the
said road, and report the condition thereof, and if the
said road shall be approved and received by the said,
court, it shall thenceforth form a part of the said public
road, leading from Bladensburg to Rock Creek church,
and when the said road shall be approved and received
by the said court, and not before, the said Hanson Penn
and Edward W. Duvall, are hereby authorised to close
and shut up all that part of the now public road pro-
posed to be altered and changed, and all the expenses to
carry out the provisions of this act, in the premises, shall
be paid by the said Hanson Penn and Edward W.
Duvall.

CHAPTER 543.

An act to protect Widows and Orphans in this State.

Widows may
appropriate to
their use, etc.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in all cases hereafter, where letters of
administration or testamentary shall issue by any of the
orphans courts in this State, and an inventory and ap-
praisement of the personal estate of the person deceased,
shall have been returned by the executor or executrix,
administrator or administratrix, to the orphans court of
the county, city of Baltimore, or Howard district, as the
case may be, that the widow of such deceased person
