CHAP. 524.

such services as he may hereafter render in virtue of
said act — Therefore,

Compensation
of register.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Orphans Court of Prince
George's county, be and they are hereby authorised
and directed to pay, out of the school fund of said
county, to James Harper, Register of Wills of said
county, five hundred dollars, in full compensation for
all services performed by him under said act, to the
eleventh day of February, eighteen hundred and
fifty.

Annual
compensation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Register of
Wills of said county shall be hereafter entitled to, and
the said Orphans court are hereby directed to pay out
of said fund an annual allowance of one hundred
dollars, for services to be rendered under said act, from
the eleventh day of February, eighteen hundred and
fifty.

CHAPTER 524.

Passed March
6, 1850.

An act appointing Commissioners, and investing them
with discretionary power, to lay out and open a
Road, in Anne Arundel County.

Commissioners
appointed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Charles R. Stewart, Thomas Pumph-
rey, and William Williams, be and are hereby appoint-
ed commissioners, and they, or a minority of them, are
hereby invested with discretionary power and authority
to enter upon, survey, lay out, locate and open a road,
upon either of the following described routes, as the said
commissioners, or a majority of them, as aforesaid, may
deem most conducive to the public convenience, name-
ly: beginning, for the upper route, at the Patapsco
church, on the lower ferry road, and terminating at Ab-
ner's hill, on the Switzer's bridge road, or beginning
for the lower route, at the south-east corner of the
cleared field of Richard Cromwell, on the lower ferry
road, and terminating at or near the Holy run meeting
house, so as to intersect Switzer's bridge road and the
Piney Woods road.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, shall have full power and
