said, shall make affidavit before a justice of the peace,
of Howard district, that the whole or any part there-
of has been paid, that then in that case the said
James Morris, shall proceed to recover only so much
of said taxes as may be admitted by the party
making the said affidavit, to be due.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall continue in force only for twelve mouths from
the date of the passage hereof.

three hundred and sixty-one.

ded.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and alter the passage of this act, the penal
provisions of the act to which this is a supplement,
are hereby extended and made applicable to the tak-
ing and carrying away of willows from the stump, to
the amount of five pounds or more, with a felonious
intent, in the same manner that the same are applica-
ble to the taking and carrying away of corn from the
stalk.

An act to allow George T. Pope, collector of State
and County Taxes, for Montgomery County, furth-
er time to complete his collections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That George T. Pope, former collector
of State and county taxes, for Montgomery county,
for the first election district thereof, be and he is here-
by authorised and empowered to collect any tax or
balances of taxes now remaining due and uncollected
by him in said election district.
