compelled to pay any tax or balance of taxes, so alleg-
ed to be unpaid, who shall before any justice of the
peace in said county, make oath that the said tax or
balances of taxes has been paid and fully satisfied.

Proviso.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall con-
tinue and be in force until the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and fifty-two.


CHAPTER 486.

D force, etc.

An act to allow Joshua Anderson, Collector of State
Taxes, for the Second Collection District of Anne
Arundel County, further time to complete his collec-
tions, for the year eighteen hundred and forty-nine.

9, 1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Mart/land, That Joshua Anderson, collector of State
taxes, for the second collection district of Anne Arun-
del county, be and he is hereby authorised and em-
powered to collect any tax or balances of taxes now
remaining due and uncollected by him in said elec-
tion district.

Time allowed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Joshua An-
derson, shall in every instance before he shall proceed
to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before some
justice of the peace for said county, that the same re-
mains due and uncollected, and that he hath not
received any part thereof, other than the credits given;
