construed to authorise the said John Somervell to pre-
sent the owner of any boat from using said wharf,
who shall express his willingness to pay such wharf-
age as is usual and customary.

CHAPTER 435.

CHAP. 436.

An act to allow certain Collectors in Baltimore county,
further time to complete their collections.

1850.

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for
Gideon Herbert, junior, Joseph Walker, Selman Cox,
John W. Onion, and Richard Nelson, former collec-
tors of tax of said county, to proceed in the collection
of all arrearages of tax placed in their hands for col-
lection, according to existing tax laws, and in as full
and ample a manner as if said taxes had been col-
lected in the respective years as they became due. and
they shall have the same power as if they had collected
the tax within the year, any law to the contrary, not-

withstanding.

Time extended.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid col-
lectors named in the first section of this act, shall, in
every instance, before they, or either of them, shall
proceed to the collection of the tax, make affidavit,
before some justice of the peace of said county, that
the same remains unpaid, and that they have not re-
ceived any security or satisfaction for the same, or
any part thereof, more than what credits may be given.

Oath required.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this law shall be

in force for two years after its passage, and no longer.

CHAPTER 436.

In force.

An act to authorise George Gardiner to settle his ac-
counts as guardian to John S. Gibbons, and deliver
over the estate to his said ward.

Passed
March 8, 1850.

bly, that John S. Gibbons, a minor, is married, and
