CHAPTER 406.

CHAP. 407.

An act entitled, an act for the better regulation of the
State Wharves, in the City of Baltimore, and for
other purposes.

Passed Mar. 8.
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the owners of the steamer Osiris,
are hereby authorised, at their own expense, to erect, a
pier from the State's wharf, at Pratt street, beginning at
the western extremity of said wharf, extending fifty feet
eastwardly along said wharf, southwardly fifty feet into
the basin, and thence northwestwardly to the place of
beginning, and that the owners of the said steamer
shall have the privilege of occupying the western side
of said pier with their said steamer, or any other steam-
er which they may own in the place of the said steam

er, in preference to any other vessel; provided, the
owners of the said steamer shall, before erecting such
pier, give bonds to the Governor of this State, in such
penalty as he shall require, conditioned to keep the said
pier in repair during the time it shall be occupied by
them with any steamboat, and to pay for the use of the
same, three hundred dollars a year, beginning with the
time of commencing the erection of the said pier, and
the said pier may be used by any other vessel or vessels
at any time when the said steamer is not actually occu-
pying the same, subject to the rales of charge established
by existing laws, and to be paid by the said vessel or
vessels to the State wharfinger.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the General Assem-
bly may at any time repeal or alter this act.


CHAPTER 407.

Reservation.

An act to authorise the Commissioners for Saint Ma-
ry's County, to take new Bonds from State and
County Collectors, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the levies of State and county as-
sessments, made by the commissioners for Saint Ma-
ry's county, for the years eighteen hundred and forty-
three, eighteen hundred and forty-four, eighteen hun-
