1849.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of tax of said county, shall levy a sum or sums of mo-
ney upon the taxable properly of the said county, suffi-

cient to defray all said expenses, and to pay to the
owners of said lands the amount, awarded to them re-
spectively, by said commissioners, or by the county
court, in case of an appeal, and from and after the re-
turn made by the commissioners, or a majority of them,
the road that they may locate as aforesaid, shall be
deemed and taken as a public road, and kept at the ex-

pense of the county.

CHAP. 405.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, before entering on their duties, shall lake an
oath that they will faithfully execute the provisions of
this act, without partiality or prejudice, and shall be en-
titled to receive two dollars for every day that they may
attend in the execution of this act, and shall give by
public advertisement, at least, twenty days notice before
they proceed to locate said road.

CHAPTER 405.

Oath required.

An act relating to the Trustees of the Poor, of Har-

ford County.

8, 1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the trustees of the poor, of Har-
ford county, be and the same are hereby abolished,
and that from and after the passage of this act, all
the powers, privileges, property and rights of the
trustees of the poor, of Harford county, shall be and
are hereby vested in the commissioners of Harford
county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of Harford county, shall hereafter perform all the du-

ties, and be subject to all the liabilities heretofore re-
quired of, or imposed by law, on the trustees of the
poor, of Harford county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the commission-
ers of Harford county, shall annually in the month

of March, appoint a fit and competent person to be
overseer of the poor, of Harford county, which said
overseer shall have charge and custody of the lands,
