shall give at least ten days notice to the proprietors of
the lands over which said road may pass, by advertise-
ments set up in the neighborhood, before they proceed
to act.


CHAPTER 392.

CHAP. 392.

An act to condemn and lay off a Lot of Ground for a
Public Landing, at the month of Horse Landing
Creek, in Saint Mary's county, and make a Public
Road through the lands of George W. L. Buckler,
William O. Reeder, and William Reeder.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,

by the petition of sundry citizens of Saint Mary's coun-
ty, that they suffer grail inconvenience for want of a
public landing, at the mouth of Horse Landing creek,
and a public road thereto — Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the commissioners of tax for Saint
Mary's county, are hereby directed to enquire whether
the public convenience will be promoted by condemn-
ing a lot. of ground, for a public landing, at the mouth
of Horse Landing creek, in said county, and making a
public road thereto, commencing on the three notched
road, near George W. L. Buckler's store, and running
through the lands George W. L. Buckler, William
Reeder, and William O. Reeder, to the mouth of said
Horse Landing creek, and if, after inquiry made, the
said commissioners of tax, shall be of opinion that the
public convenience will be so promoted, and that the
public interest requires said landing and road, they are
hereby authorised and directed to appoint three discreet
and sensible persons, who shall be commissioners to lay
out, survey, mark and bound a piece or lot of ground of
the extent of one half acre of land, and no more, com-
mencing at low water mark, and running in the shape
of a square, from said low water mark, along the mar-
gin of said Horse Landing creek, for a public landing at
the termination of the road provided for in the second
section of this act.

SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, be and they are hereby
authorised to condemn and make public a road, com-
mencing on the three notched road, in said county, near
