CHAP. 386.

shall be elected to manage the affairs of said company,
and each member having property insured to the amount
of one hundred dollars, shall be entitled to one vote, and
notice of every such election shall be given in one or
more newspapers published in Allegany county, at least
three weeks before such election shall be held, and the
persons herein named as directors, shall immediately
after the passage of this act, organise the company, and
prepare a constitution or bye laws, as they may see best,
to be submitted to the members for adoption, before the
first Monday in June, eighteen hundred and fifty.

Repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the second section
of said act, chapter one hundred and eleven, be and the
same is hereby repealed, and that the second section of
this supplement is substituted in its stead, and that the
publication directed by the sixteenth section of said act,
chapter one hundred and eleven, shall be made on the
last Monday of April, eighteen hundred and fifty-one,
and annually thereafter.

CHAPTER 386.

An act to provide for Building a Bridge over Mor-
gan's Greek, in Kent County.

County levy
authorised.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the levy court of Kent county, are
hereby empowered, if in their judgment the public
interest requires it, to contract with some person or
persons, or appoint commissioners to build a good and
substantial draw or pivot bridge over the waters of
Morgan's creek, at the point where the road, located
by the commissioners appointed by the judges of
Kent county court, at their March term, eighteen
hundred and forty-nine, crosses said creek, and the
levy court aforesaid, are hereby authorised and direc-
ted to levy upon the assessable properly of said coun-
ty, a sum of money, not exceeding five hundred dol-
lars, to carry into effect the provisions of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That after the completion
and opening of the bridge for public travel, it shall be
the duty of all captains and masters of vessels, who
have occasion to pass through the draw or pivot of
said bridge, to cause the same to be opened and shut,
and again made fast, that travellers by land may not
