CHAPTER 341.

A further supplement to an act for the better regula-
tion of Apprentices.

Apprentices—
by whom bound
out.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall and may be lawful to and for any judges
or justices of any court, justices of the peace, trustees
of the poor, officers of incorporated institutions, and all
other persons in the several counties of this State, in
Baltimore city, and in Howard district, who under the
existing laws of the State have authority to bind out
any female children as apprentices, hereafter to bind
out such female children as apprentices, to serve until

they shall arrive at the age of eighteen years; provided,
that all contracts or indentures of apprenticeship, made
under the authority of this act, shall in all other respects
be made, executed, approved, and recorded, in the same
manner as may now be required by law, for the binding
of such female children to serve until they shall arrive at
the age of sixteen years.

An an act to elect Constables in and for Washington
County, by the people.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall be lawful to elect the con-
stables of said county, by the people.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That four of the said con-
stables shall be elected and reside in district number
three, of said county, one of which shall reside in Funks-
town; three in district number two, and two in each of
the other seven election districts of the county, which
shall be the number of constables to which said county
shall be limited, except in cases provided by this act.

SEC. 3. And. be it enacted, That on the second Mon-
day of March, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-
one, and on the same day, in every two years thereafter,
an election shall be held at the usual place of holding
elections, in each election district of said county, for as
many constables as shall be assigned it by this act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said election of
constables shall be held in the manner now prescribed
by law for the election of delegates to the Assembly, for
