SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That should the levy
court determine that a wharf, as contemplated in the first

section of this act, is necessary, they are hereby autho-

rised to employ some suitable person to build the same.

An act to authorise Stephen H. Ford, to erect a Wharf

at Ford's Landing, on the Elk River, in Cecil
County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Stephen H. Ford, be and he is hereby authorised
to erect a wharf at Ford's Landing, on the Elk river, in
Cecil county, of such dimensions as to enable vessels or
steamboats to lay alongside, thereof, and in every way,
as may in his judgment suit, the purposes of trade, and
so forth, and that the said wharf, when so erected, shall
be under the control and ownership of the said Stephen
H. Ford, and that he is hereby authorised and empow-
ered to charge such reasonable sums for wharfage as in
his judgment may be deemed right and proper.

CHAPTER 338.

To erect wharf.

An act to Incorporate the Clearspring Savings Insti-
tution.

Passed Mar. 6,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Cushwa, John H. Cahill,
L. Jewett Grove, D. Turnbolt, Henry W. Delinger, F.
B. Snyder, Owen McClain, and all and every other per-
son hereafter becoming members of the Clearspring Sa-
vings Institution, in the manner hereinafter mentioned,
shall be and are hereby created and made a body politic
or corporation, by the name and style of the Clearspring
Savings Institution, and by that name shall have suc-
cession, and be capable by law to hold and dispose of
real and personal property, by deed or otherwise, to sue
