county, be and the same is hereby changed to Joseph
Lorenzo Judy, and that he shall at all times, and in all
respects, be entitled to use the name of Joseph Lorenzo
Judy, as if the same had been given him in baptism.

CHAPTER 49.

CHAP. 50.

A supplement to an act relating to the City Hotel of
Frederick, passed December session, eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-four, chapter two hundred and sev-
enty-five.

Be enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall and may be lawful for Rich-
ard Potts, George M. Eichelberger and Basil Norris,
trustees, successors of the trustees named in the deed of
Joseph Talbott, conveying and creating a joint stock or
property called the City Hotel in Frederick, or for any
two of them, to execute to Michael Keefer, purchaser
of said property, a good and valid deed therefor.

CHAPTER 50.

To give deed.

An act to allow Joseph Shaffer, late Collector of Taxes
for Carroll County, further time to complete his
collections.

Jan. 30, 1850.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Joseph Shaffer, late collector of
taxes in Carroll county, be and he is hereby authorised
and empowered to collect any and all taxes or balances
of taxes due to him and now remaining uncollected for
the several years in which he was collector of taxes in
the said county, in the same manner and with the same
privileges and powers, that he could or might have done
within the time limited by law.

May collect.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Joseph
Shaffer shall in every instance, before he shall proceed
to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before some
justice of the peace for Carroll county, that the same re-
mains unpaid, and that he hath not, or any other per-
