CHAP. 198.

vision into shares of the interests of members in said
corporation, and to make the loans of funds of said
corporation, and fix the terms and conditions thereof,
which loans shall however, in no instance be made to
any but members, and then only upon security to the

provided, that in these and all other concerns of the
corporation, the constitution of said association now in
force shall govern until other regulations shall as afore-
said be made, and said directory shall determine what
shall be a quorum of its body for the transaction of bu-
siness, and shall fill up all vacancies that may occur in
its body in manner as it may regulate.

May establish
bye-laws.

SEC 3. And be it enacted, That the members of
said corporation at any annual meeting for elections, or
at any other meeting of members, convened upon a call
signed by at least ten members, and after notice pub-
lished at least twice a week for three weeks in two daily
newspapers of Baltimore, may pass any bye-laws and
ordinances, and they, provided they shall have had the
assent of a majority of all the members of said corpora-
tion expressed by vote at such meeting, shall bind such
directory although contrary to, or repealing any bye-
laws or rules, or regulations of any kind, of said direc-
tory.

Banking forbid.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said corporation
shall not issue any note, token, device or any evidence
of debt, to be used as currency.

In force, &c.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force for thirty years from its passage, and that the Le-
gislature hereby reserves the right to repeal or alter it at
pleasure.

Incorporated,
&c.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That Charles Degen-
hard, George Gutgesell, John Newbert, Adam Frensch,
Augustus G. Teitman, Jacob Ober, and all others who
are associates of the company, called the Fells Point
Ball Verien, formed in the city of Baltimore, and all
who shall according to its rules become members of the
corporation hereby created, be and they are hereby
made and declared a corporation and body politic, by
the name of the Fells Point Building Union, and by
that name shall have and exercise all the powers and
privileges, and be subject to all the regulations, restric-
tions and limitations, granted and prescribed in and by
this act, for and in respect of the corporation hereby
created, styled the Baltimore German Building Associa-
tion, number two, excepting only that the elections
for directors of the corporation by this section created.
