CHAP. 175.

shall be two dollars per day, provided that any juror re-
siding over ten miles from the city of Baltimore shall be
entitled to receive pay for seven days to the week.

Judges and
clerks of elec-
tion.
|
SEC. 4, And be it enacted, That the pay of the
judges and clerks of elections in said county, shall be
three dollars per day, and the judges making the returns
of said elections, to be entitled to one day's extra pay,
except the judges residing over ten miles from the court-
house of said county, who shall be entitled to two days
extra pay for making said election returns as aforesaid.

Visitors of jail.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the visitors of the
jail of said county, shall be entitled to receive for every
day, he or they may necessarily attend as such, two dol-
lars each per day, in lieu of all compensation now al-
lowed said visitors by law, any thing, in any previous
act, to the contrary notwithstanding.

Inconsistent
acts repeated.
|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect, and be in force, from and after the passage there-
of, and all acts or parts of acts inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

An act to authorise Elisha Howard, late Collector of
State taxes for Frederick county, further time to
complete his Collections.
|
|
|
Authority to
collect.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Elisha Howard, late collector of
Taxes of Frederick county, be and he is hereby autho-
rised and empowered to collect any tax or balances of
taxes remaining due to and uncollected by him, in the
same manner as he could or might have done within
the time limited by law.

To make oath.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Elisha
Howard shall in every instance, before he shall proceed
to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before some
justice of the peace for Frederick county, that the same
remains unpaid, and that he hath not received any part
thereof, more than the credits allowed thereon.

In force.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this law shall not be
in force longer than two years from the passage thereof.
