CHAP. 167

thereof, by indictment in any of the county courts of
this State, Howard District or Baltimore city court, be
subject to a fine of not less than two nor more than
five hundred dollars, for each and every slave so intro-
duced, in the discretion of the said court in which said
conviction shall be had.

CHAPTER 166.

Passed
Feb. 28, 1850.

An act to attain Ebenezer B. Dams, former collector
of State and County taxes, in Worcester county,
further time to complete his collections.

Authorised to
collect.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Ebenezer B. Davis, former collec-
tor of State and county tax for the year eighteen hundred
and forty-six, and of county tax for the years eighteen
hundred and forty seven and eighteen hundred and forty-
eight, be and he is hereby authorised and empowered
to collect any and all taxes or balances of taxes due to
him and now remaining unpaid for the several and re-
spective years, in which he was collector as aforesaid in
said county, in the same manner, and with the same
privileges and powers he could or might have done
within the time limited by law.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force and continue from and after its passage until the
first day of May, eighteen hundred and fifty-two.

CHAPTER 167.

A Supplement to an act entitled, an act to Incorporate
the Granite Manufacturing Company of Maryland.

Directors

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That at the next election of Directors by the Stock-
holders of said company, the number of directors to be
elected shall be six instead of three, as now provided by
said act of incorporation; and, thereafter, the business
and concerns of said company shall be managed by a
president and six directors, to be chosen annually in the
