commissioners in such manner as they may deem
most advisable, and the said sum or sums of money
levied as aforesaid, shall be collected and paid over as
other county charges.

An act entitled, an act further to provide for the levy-

ing and collecting Taxes in Baltimore County.

Passed Feb. 28,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the commissioners of Baltimore
county shall not permit any transfers, deductions or
abatements in the books of assessment of the said
county, between the first day of September and the
first day of December, in each and every year, and
the said commissioners shall not include in the items
or charges to be levied for in any given year, claims
not brought forward, or presented for levy prior to the

tenth day of January; provided however, that expenses
of the county may be levied for by estimates, if not
ascertained before that day.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the taxes hereafter
to be levied on the assessable property of Baltimore i
county, both for State and county purposes, shall be
ascertained and imposed within the month of January,
in each year, and not later.

Time of levy-
ing fixed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the time for laying
the county tax for Baltimore county, for the year
eighteen hundred and forty-nine, and the State tax for
eighteen hundred and fifty, be and is hereby extended
to the first Tuesday in March next, after the passage
of this act.

Time extended.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and alter its passage, and all acts or parts
of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be
and the same is hereby repealed.
