CHAP. 133.

CHAPTER 132.

Passed Feb. 18,
1850.

An act to allow Stephen Musgrove, Collector of the
Third Collection District, of Howard District , fur-
ther time to complete his collections.

Time allowed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Stephen Musgrove, late collector of
the third collection district, of Howard district, be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to collect any
taxes or balance of taxes, now remaining due and un-
collected by him in the district aforesaid, in the same
manner, and with the same power and privileges as are
allowed by the existing laws, in such cases made and
provided.

Oath required.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Stephen
Musgrove shall, in every instance, before he shall pro-
ceed to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit, before
some justice of the peace for Howard district, that the
same remains unpaid, and that he has not received any
security or satisfaction for the same, or any part thereof,
more than the credit allowed thereon.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
continue in force longer than the first day of January
next.

CHAPTER 133.

Passed Feb. 26,
1850.

An act authorising the County Commissioners of Wor-
cester County to levy a sum of money far the purpose
of building a new Jail, or repairing the old one in

said county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the county commissioners of Worcester
county, be and they are hereby authorised and
required, if in their judgment they may deem it ex-
pedient, to levy upon the assessable property of said
county, such sum or sums of money as may, in their
opinion, be sufficient to build a substantial jail, or 10
repair and make substantial, the old jail in said coun-
ty, and if, in the opinion of said commissioners, such
levy is expedient, the sum or sums of money so
levied for the use aforesaid, shall be applied by the said
