CHAPTER 118.

CHAP. 119.

An act relating to the Rents of Real Estates of Mi-

nors.

Passed Feb. 23,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the, General Assembly
of Maryland, That the rents of real estate of minors,
or of leasehold estates, that may not be due at the
death of such minor, shall, for the year in which such
minor may die, be paid to the guardian of such minor,
to be accounted for as guardian, to the orphans courts,
in the settlement of the guardianship, and such guar-
dian may maintain distress or suit to recover such
rent, according to the manner in which distress or
suits are now prosecuted.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the balance of such
rents as may be received from real estate as aforesaid,
and not appropriated for the education, maintenance
or support of the minor, for taxes, assessments, re-
pairs, improvements, commissions, and expenses, shall
be paid, by the guardian, to the person or persons who
shall be entitled to the real estate at the death of such
minor, and the guardian bond shall be liable for the
same, and in case of the death of such guardian, be-
fore the recovery of the said rent, the executor or ad-
ministrator of such guardian may recover the same
in the manner aforesaid, to be appropriated and ac-
counted for in the same manner that the guardian, if
living, would be held to account for the same.

An act for the incorporation of Ocean Lodge, number
sixty-one, of the Independent Order of Odd Fel-

lows.

Smith, William Quirk, Zadok T. Milbourne, Levin
H. Townsend, James G. Messick, John W. Staton,
Robert W. Williams, Charles G. Dale, George S.
Richardson, James S. Lecompt, and the officers and
members of Ocean Lodge, number sixty one, of the
Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and their succes-
