CHAP. 117.

have and possess all the rights and privileges of the
above corporation.

May hold prop-
erty.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said body cor-

porate shall be authorised to hold real and personal
estate to the value of five thousand dollars, for the
use of the said Methodist Episcopal Church, in the
said Annamessex Circuit, as a parsonage, and that
all deeds and conveyances of real estate to them here-
tofore made, be valid, and that the properly conveyed
to them by the same, be rested in the said corporation
for the uses and purposes above expressed.

An act for the relief of Patrick Tormey, of Fred-
erick County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Patrick Tormey, an applicant for the
benefit of the insolvent laws of this State, has repre-
sented to the General Assembly of Maryland, that in
making out the papers and proceedings under his
aforesaid application, in Frederick county court, du-
ring its session of November, eighteen hundred and
forty-nine, certain inaccuracies and errors were inad-
vertently made, which may deprive him of the bone-
fit of said application — Therefore,

May have ben-
efit.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the said Patrick Tormey shall not
be deprived of his final discharge, under said appli-
cation, by reason of any such errors and informalities;

Proviso.

provided however, that this act shall not be construed
so as to deprive his creditors of their right to file alle-
gations, or of any other of their general privileges now
existing under the insolvent laws of this State; but
that the same shall be construed simply to make valid
the said application, and the proceedings had there-
under, and to place the said applicant in the same po-
sition which he would have occupied under and by
virtue of the provisions of the insolvent laws afore-
said, if the said errors and informalities had not been
committed as aforesaid.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
