CHAP. 106.
Damages, how
paid.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, shall value and ascertain
the damage that may be sustained by any person or per-
sons through whose land the said road may be made
to pass, taking into consideration the advantages and
disadvantages, if any, and the damages so ascertained
shall be levied and assessed as any other county charges
in said county.

Qualification.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners before they proceed to act, shall take an oath or
affirmation before some justice of the peace, that they
will, without favor, partiality or prejudice, assess the
damages sustained by the person or persons through
whose land the said road may pass.

|
Inconsistent
acts repealed.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts, inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and
the same are hereby repealed.

An act to allow Edward S. L. Young, former collector of
the State and county taxes of Caroline county, further
time to complete his collections.
|
|
|
|
Time extend-
ed to collect.
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Edward S. L. Young, former collec-
tor of the State ami county taxes of Caroline county,
be and he to hereby authorised and empowered to collect
any taxes or balance of taxes now remaining due to and
uncollected by him in the county aforesaid, in the same
manner and with the same power and privileges as are
allowed by existing laws in said cases made and pro-
vided.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall remain
in full force until the first day of February eighteen
hundred and fifty, and no longer.
