ing the Governor's Bridge, which was carried away by
the flood in October last.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That John T. Hodges;
of Anne Arundel county, and William E. Peach, of
Prince George's county, be and they are hereby ap-
pointed commissioners to contract for replacing said
bridge, and that they he allowed two dollars for every
day they are employed in the performance of this
duty.

CHAPTER 105.
An act to lay out and open a road from Owen Cecil's
to Elk Ridge Landing, in Anne Arundel county.

WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by Sundry citizens of Anne Arundel county, that
it would be of great advantage to them and the public
in general, to have a road laid out, leading from Owen
Cecil's, in Anne Arundel county, to Elk Ridge Land-
ing—therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Andrew J. Phelps, William Gardner
and Thomas W. Cole, of Anne Arundel county, be and
they are hereby appointed commissioners to survey, lay
out and open a road, not exceeding thirty feet in width,
following as far as may be convenient the present site of
the road commonly called the Ridge road, from Owen
Cecil's in said county to Elk Ridge Landing, and the
said commissioners shall make out a plat of the said
road, and return the same to the clerk of Anne Arundel
county court, to be recorded among the records of said
county, and the said road, when so opened, shall be
hereafter deemed to be a public road forever, and shall
be kept in repair in the same manner as other public
roads are directed to be kept in said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the expenses of sur-
veying and opening said road shall be levied and paid by
the commissioners of Anne Arundel county, as other
county charges are levied and paid, upon receiving from
said commissioners an account on oath of the said expen-
ses, including an allowance of two dollars per day to
the commissioners appointed by this act.
